Ron and Dan committed murder, a mother and her baby girl, in the name of God.  And thus begins the journey to the understanding of the Mormon church (LDS) and its teachings.  This fast, fastest, growing church in America is based upon polygamy, god-like delusion, abuse, un-yielding faith and fundamentalism.

We speak abundantly about Islam but mormonism has created an extreme belief that has taken a strong-hold in Utah.  Yes, there are various sects just like Islam but the religion founded by John Smith has been able to curtail laws and thrive on American soil.

The introduction of the mormon church through Joseph Smith in itself is an intriguing odyssey explored by Krakauer and through the years, he reveals how ‘man,’ to fulfill his earthly desires, created the extremisms that led to the killing of Brenda and her 15 month old daughter.

This read will have you questioning the use of God in decision-making that is so common in religious culture.  Even if those decisions result in felonies, such as murder, they are justified in the believer.  A terrible trait.

For those that don’t know much about mormonism, this book provides historical, objective facts on the cult-like religion that has usurped the mountains of Utah.
